This is something that can't be too hard to do.. there is being looked at integrating Collabora Online (COOL) and LibreOffice Online (COOL) into Micro Focus Filr (but not limited to). This may at the same time be an opportunity for sites leveraging COOL/LOOL with like NextCloud, OwnCloud, Filecloud, Pydio, Kolab (https://www.collaboraoffice.com/partners-main/partners/).
Collabora Online is a branded and enterprise supported version of LibreOffice Online allowing document (co) editing in a webbrowser.
Scope is this: as a file lives in our datacenter and we open the file in Micro Focus Filr (or any solution like that) we generally need to download the file to be able to print it. This is especially limiting on mobile devices due to file size restrictions, network speed, App silo's... all not verry user experience friendly.
Expected workflow:
* User logs into Filr web portal and opens a file for editing (this could be any solution and also be done in a mobile App or a borowser on a mobile device).
* Instead of in place editing locally on the device the file is opened in COOL/LOOL
* User has a rich document editing expirience and needs to print... instead of save a PDF or save/export the file locally to be able to print is the File> Print> Micro Focus iPrint dialog is available popping up the iPrint web page where the user can select a destination printer (much like uploading the document to iPrint Web).
* If required the user can then use the iPrint App to Acknowledge the job.
This workflow prevents the need to download the file locally to be able to print. I think in the background we need to convert to pdf and then send the file to iPrint would be possible so nothing of the document gets lost in the process.
The admin should be able to setup one or more iPrint systems (urls) a user can select to print to from LOOL/COOL or (additional) allow for the user to add an url him/herselves (iprint.microfocus.com) which could be handy for hosted environments. Most setups could do with one preconfigured iPrint server so the UX get pretty straighforward for the user, just like choosing print in a Windows or OSX application.
From a security perspective this is also better as files do not land locally on devices while printing.

Integrating iPrint into LOOL/COOL (Micro Focus "Secure Content Editor") is not only an opportunity for Filr or Teamworks customers, but also one to expand iPrint to the growing community of COOL/LOOL customers leveraing Nextcloud and other 3th party collaboration systems. An (which is and indication and probably not up to date) overview of COOL partners can be found here https://www.collaboraoffice.com/partners-main/partners/, basically any system that integrates with LOOL/COOL becomes a potentical iPrint customer.
Technically this could work like:
* When a user opens a file for viewing/editing in Filr/Teamworks/Nextcloud/Others the user token (could be grabbed from the LDAP source iPrint is using to auth the user) is passed along with the iprint server url to the the Secure Content Editor (or COOL/LOOL for that matter)activating the iPrint menu entry.
* User can now print from within the application and authenticates to the iPrint server with the token, or worst case if the token is not there is then asked for credentials to auth on the iPrint service. Then the user gets to see a list of allowed printer to print to, which is basically something like this idea "Allow integration of Printer Installation web page into company intranets" https://www1.v1ideas.com/MFI/novell-iprint/Idea/Detail/1787
* We need a small plugin into Filr/TeamWorks/Nextcloud administration to setup the iprint server url (that gets passed to the editor appliance) and maybe some other options that optionally may get passed like "Allow printing only for members of [grouplist-box]", "Allow user to change/add iPrint service URL's", "Keep Watermark when printing","Honor document security" (which prevents printing when the document/system is set to No Printing Allowed).
