Would love to see a variable based global signature and ability to prevent users form creating a new one.
Global one would use brackets to pull data from ldap source i.e.
[fname][lname]
[department][postition]
[officenumber][cell number]
etc etc then the signature would just go out as the sending user with all populated exactly the same allowing the company to institute consistency easily and quickly

That´s not fine, I already told my customers, that this will ship in GW 2014 R2 SP1 as you said here https://www.novell.com/communities/coolsolutions/what-is-coming-in-groupwise/
I have told it to our Management too, that the needed variables in global signatures will come in SP1!!! This is a missed and needed key function for bring out the Corporate Identity to our customers.
Please push it to the SP1!

This is a Problem, when Mike Bills announce a missing function to the next release (=SP1) and than it will not come.
Sorry that is a serious damage for his Micro Focus credibility!!
Indeed this is really a missed opportunity and damaging one of the last remaining selling points for GW - idea-driven innovation, implemented timely. This will further increase momentum for a migration away from GW in our company, I'm afraid.

This did not make the GroupWise 18 release, we will look to add it in the next version.

Well, the real reason is that the team is just too small to get these features in. Otherwise is was not moved to Planned and now back to 'On Radar'; it's not even kept at Planned state for sp1.

seems to be some kind of duplicate idea, - bill closed that idea #40 now and says this is already implemented in formerly known "vertigo"...?!
we use vertigo from the very beginning.
with vertigo an admin can copy/paste (manually!) prepared signatures into a users mailbox. you cannot use variables out from gwab there so far...
you cannot implement any automatism for this task.
i'm looking forward to see this in the new release scheduled for the week of dec 11th... :-)

Looks like the problem is "solved" with adding Vertigo to bundled Micro Focus Enterprise Messaging. Not sure, but this bundle doesn´t get every GroupWise customer. And maybe newer Vertigo version can do that, we don´t know for sure ...
@andreas If votes counted then where is the Mac client? <G> That has been a steady no-1 since the start of this IDEA portal. I was just sharing the reason why I think it's not implemented yet. Now we have to dissapoint a few customers.
Planned (imo) generally means the feature is being worked on and be released in the next version, or the version after that. That is how the other product idea forums work (ZCM, Filr,..).
Maybe the feature will be part of 'Vertigo' anyway, that would be fine as long as it all works as an integrated and automated solution.
Yeah, we would also like to see this implemented!
We use Vertigo for a long time, but until now only manual copying of predefined signatures is possible (like Gerald R. pointed out).
And on top of this the users are able to change their signature or create new ones that then are no longer in line with corporate identity.

The problem why this idea was created is not solved until now and Vertigo does not solve it either!
It appears they gave up :( and as a resu”t i’m Seriously thinking I should give up on. Microfocus / Novell and just give up and go over to the dark side, How can they just casually write off something that is desperately needed... I cannot state how fedup I am with MF at the moment. It’s getting harder to justify each year, and now going back on required changes is just about the last straw.
Looks like there is hope. It will be internally email platform for whole company, than major improvements are on the way.
Now that would make a world of difference!

If Enterprise Messaging is going to be used by all of MF then it's great news. It means MF is committed to the product. And with all of their staff eating their own dogfood hopefully it'll get the investment in development it needs.

This is currently planned on the roadmap the 18.1 release of GroupWise. 18.1 is currently schedule for release late secon half of 2018. Please remember that roadmap items are subject to change as we get closer to release. This will still be a licenses feature of Mailbox Mgmt. We plan to integrate that into GroupWise but you would have to have a Mailbox Management license or have Enterprise Messaging for the feature to be available.
18.1 is released now, are we now able to pull values from LDAP?
This is being planned for the 18.2 Release of GroupWise, currently schedule for the late second half of 2018. This will be part of GroupWise and not Mailbox Mgmt, as it will be an enhancement to the exisiting Global Signatures feature.
This is available in the GroupWise 18.2 release on 10/31/2019
