there should be an option to notify the owner if an alert is assigned.

Comments

  • Does this idea contemplate enabling a user to configure their own user profile so that they can opt-in/out of (email) notifications when alerts is, for example, assign to them or their role? Or is this idea more about some other user (such as an admin) configuring notifications to be sent to other users under certain configurable conditions?

  • For this customer, it would be an admin-assigned policy.

  • Norbert,

Please see a few more clarification questions below
    1. besides alert creation or owner change, what other aspects of change would admin like to notified the owner of the alert? for example, when others add a comments? when new events are attached? when others change the status of the alert, or when others change the priority of the alert, etc...
    2. scope of the notification - would admin configure notification for a particular alert when the alert is configured or would admin define policy for email notification on a global level that applies to all alerts?

  • Hi Peng,
    1) in this case, only notifications of the "new work" type are requested. So if an alert is created or reassigned, the (new) owner should get notified.
    2) the setting should apply to all alerts created from a specific set of correlation rules. i.e. there are some correlation rules that create alerts for which no notification is wanted.
