Uninstall a Windows 8 Start Menu (Metro) default app such as Bing Maps, Bing Finance, or Bing Sports

- The app seems to be removed from the device and does not show anywhere in the Start Menu.
- After inventory is run, the app is still reported.

It has been found that the app files are not removed from the device. It seems that only the shortcut icon on the Start Menu is removed. If you look in the app file location, all files still exist:

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps

This seems to only be an issue with the default Metro apps as if you install an app from the store and remove it, it is removed from Inventory.

As the app files still exist, it makes sense that they are still reported by Inventory.

We need to report then the status of the app such as active or not, installed or not.
