It would be useful to have a chat facility available while running a remote control session with a device so that 2-way conversation can take place if phone is not required.

  • Maybe you could do an integration with Novell Messenger or an zcm xmpp based messenger, which sitll could conncet to the Novell Messenger, as xmpp seems to be planned for the messenger.

  • Or just a simple HTML 5 message piece such as those found on many customer webpages these days. Nothing fancy. Bonus points if extra ZEN admins can jump in on the chats.

  • Think it would be great if this could be integrated with Novell Messenger. As with ZCM 11.4 the Remote Control agent is separated from the ZCMagent, allowing remote control even case the ZCMagent gets broken. From a Messenges perspective the Remote Control could be optionally installed with the Messenger Client case a ZCMagent is not installed on a device (for a customers that has no ZCM or if a device is unmanaged).

    Messenger has a Remote Control request @ https://ideas.microfocus.com/MFI/novell-gw/Idea/Detail/718

    Should not be too hard to integrate those two products. Messenger already has IOS and Android clients and with the upcoming ZCM 12 Mobile support remote control for Mobile Devices could be a great support add-on (is that's possible).

  • It would be very nice if I could thus chat with single or multiple participants at the same time as Admin(!) Could send a message to ALL (as previously good from the Novell Server Console with "send" . . . good old times . . . :-)

  • We used to be able to this in Zen4. it was great. In our schools no teachers have phones. being able to communicate was great. It was taken out in Zen7.

  • I think , not everyone user like the messenger, i think a chat it the better option!

  • a built in option like in bomgar would be preferred.

  • We use GroupWise Messenger and also would like to leverage remote control to support admins and the engineering teams so they can easily and in a save way support leveraging a remote session.

  • Bomgar is leveraged by MF support and has clients for most platforms out there, so this could be a good candidate as we now need to support desktop and mobile devices;

  • Bomgar is the gold standard for remote support. Absolutely amazing bit of kit. Problem is it costs a fortune, so any integration into ZENWorks would likely jack the price up I'd imagine as good as it'd be compared to the current clunky, laggy VNC viewer.

  • Several VNC clients have chat functionality. Why not just update ZENworks VNC client? I believe it is TightVNC it's based on?

  • Voice chat would also be nice.
