It would be great if we could set automatic test flags to devices if a specific string in device name is matched at the time of the initial device registration.
In this case we could name some devices with a specific test device name and the rule would automatically set the flag on these new devices.

Yes, that would be great for us, too! We have named test users for bundles, patches and WSUS updates.
So they change their VMs more often and I have to manually mark their new VMs in ZCM as test devices.
However, since these test VMs have special names anyway, automation would certainly be possible. That would be a real effort!
Nice feature, us helps to simplify test with blank machines and also for test patch deployment. Must have, too!
Awesome Idea! We are also having some inconvieniences regarding test VMs. This feature would definately save us a huge amount of time at deployment-tests.
