After we reimage a device as example with the "rule based imaging bundle" the object in the ZCM Database is not removed. This causes, that all informations until before the imaging are still present.
After the reimaging, the device doesn't have any patches installed becauce in the inventory the Patches has the wrong information, that all patches were present. After a device reimaging trough "rule based imaging bundle" these informations are not automatically updated, because still present in the database.
This is a false information. In this case the patches on reimaged devices trough "rule based imaging bundle" are not reinstalled and we do have a device with old patch stand.
On "rule based imaging bundle" should be set automatically a flag, so that the patch informations are reset. After successfull device reimaging the computerobject has no "installed" patch informations and reinstalls all patches until the last patch stand

If I'm reading your requirements correctly, ZCM can already do what you need it to do, though the methodology is not as you describe.
