ZENworks Configuration Management: Compiler Tools needed to compile ko files

Every so often we need to recompile ko files to support new hardware. One of the steps is to standup a linux server running the same kernal as the current initrd with the C/C++ compiler tools. If the initrd kernal and Zenworks appliance kernal always match it would be so much easier if the C/C++ tools were built into the Zenworks appliance.

Any OS update on appliance/server will change the minor version of kernel.
This is possible, only if server/appliance kernel version matches exactly with imaging kernel version.
