Currently ZENworks knows three device states: normal, retired and lost.

We are frequently replacing devices and an addtional device states like the ones we know from Novell Servicedesk (arrived, deployed, configuration pending) would be helpful.
I had the situation that we got some new machines and prepared them for the delivery to the end users. During this time the new and the "old" machines showing up in ZCC. And unfortunately we needed the amount of the active machines with the software inventory for a software audit. Because both machines had the status "normal" both were counted for the license summary. And we had wrong numbers. That's one business case when a different state for the devices would be very helpful. In our current case "prepared or delivery" was the one needed so that the inventory report show the correct number of active machines.
