ZAM could measure license consumption for User-based entitlements based on AD/eDir/LDAP group membership.
A group could be defined in the entitlement as the source of consumption. Then ZAM would poll the number of users in that group and update the appropriate field in its database.
Features regarding this functionality:
- UI for finding a group in the ZENworks user source easily for association
- support for eDir/AD nested groups (groups within groups)
- process group membership data to be get not just the number of users, but all usernames, thus making license allocation to users possible
- track license consumption history for this kind of entitlement
