Much to my surprise, it has been pointed out that inventory data from the Inventory Only Agent (IOA) is not available for software license calculations. I have been pointed to a documentation reference (https://www.novell.com/documentation/zenworks-2017-update-4/zen_inventory/data/ba5mf23.html, see note) that indicates this position is working as designed.
This does not make sense. Inventory is inventory. Many customers prefer to run the IOA on servers rather than the managed agent to prevent accidental assignment of bundles or policies to servers. But, they are every bit in need of counting licenses for MS SQL (example) on a server with the IOA as on some other device using the managed agent.
I can report on IOA and managed inventory data in the same report. The data looks the same and comes - effectively - from the same inventory source.
I suspect that somewhere out in the asset management engine there's a flag that filters against IOA data. Please remove that filter. Let us calculate licenses on all the inventory data.
