Someone had to say it, right? :-)

  • Be careful what you wish for as SLES12 is very different to previous releases of SLES and some of those changes would have implications for OES (systemd, Wicked network management, and off-line only upgrades to name just three).

  • Well aware, I'm using SLE 12 as the base for all SUSE work moving forward. Just had to bite it off all at once.

  • Not voting for this because I think it is inevitable, and yet it is not nearly as important to me as improvements in eDirectory, NCP, NSS, and other core OES technologies.

  • I would expect some movement on this when SLES12 SP1 is released

  • How about for OES2017. :-) We am only using SLE 12 on the desktop and in a few web server deployments that require faster updates. The changes Simon mentioned along with a few other issues are keeping us on SLE 11 for now for everything else. As David G suggests, we too are going to wait until SLE 12 SP 1 to re-evaluate as by then I suspect the product itself and even the training offerings will be much better than they are today...

  • All comments are valid and acknowledged. This will be taken up after OES 2015 SP1 and like Simon pointed, the impact to OES is significant.
