By years the limit length of the scripts of the cluster resources has been an important factor when designing the cluster services. In the NetWare environment the limit was 924 bytes, now in Linux environment is 3200 bytes.
This limit includes commands, comments, and spaces.
Creating a script that exceeds the maximum length script can prevent a resource from loading.
To prevent that from happening, when the scripts are very extensive, administrators can spawn external scripts from a script.
Sometimes, when multiple services are loaded from a cluster resource, for example, secondary IP addresses, GroupWise domains or post offices, third-party products as GWAVA, NSS volumes and others, the scripts can be a little extensive.
For these cases, a Bytes Counter in the page of iManager administration resources could be useful.
