A way is needed to capture to a document the rights of an AD enabled volume. NoRM has the ability to capture NCP rights. NuRM has the ability to view both, but they can not be saved off. The rights command shows both but does not work recursively so you can not capture the entire volume. Modifying any one of these tools would do the trick. It seems the most effective means might be to modify the NCP trustee report in NoRM and allow it to show both NCP and AD rights as that output is the formatted the best for documentation. However, any of the tools would be fine if they were modified to show both for the entire volume and have the ability to send the output to a file for future review/use.

  • We used to have the inventory command in NetWare that generated a trustee and inventory file on the root of loaded volumes, this would be beneficial and welcome, possibly completed by allowing the file as an input for the rights command to reset trustee assignments.

  • This is a necessary feature for all environments with AD enabled nss volumes.

  • It's essential functionality for NSS for AD actually.
