Our company would like to have simple mobile access to files that are stored on the OES file system. We have evaluated the Filr solution and found it to be very heavy weight for our needs. To implement Filr, our IT department would have to spend a significate amount of money on hardware as well has dedicate IT resources to maintain the Filr system(s).

Our most important requirement is to simply and quickly access the files on our OES system using the existing authentication and authorization that already exists on OES. Preferably by installing a small RPM on an OES server. Other requirements which would be nice to have are the following:

- Avoid all file sync’ing and indexing
- Small REST interface that can be easily consumed by mobile devices as well as web applications
- Ability to quickly develop connectors that will provide access to other file systems such as Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive, Amazon S3
- Ability to access a file system over various protocols such as SSH, NCP, NFS, CIFS
- Ability to access cloud systems such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat

  • Methinks this portal is unfortunately not used.

  • Never mind. I'll just move to this. It does everything I'm looking for.

  • I too think Filr is heavy (bloated) for what it does.
