It would be very helpful to have iPrint support Google Cloud Print, as not supporting it essentially means that iPrint doesn't support the majority of devices used in K12 education in the United States.
Chromebooks have become incredibly popular in the American K12 education market in the past several years, where they now comprise over half of classroom devices. They are frequently being used in 1:1 deployments, where each student is assigned a Chromebook for use in school and at home.
Google makes available an API for developers to integrate Cloud Print support into devices applications.

We have approximately 2000 Chrome Books so far, and are adding more grade levels each year.
Chromebooks have been deployed here as a secure remote access solution. Enabling them to print using iPrint would be a greatly valued addition.
We have 400 Chromebooks, and had to install Windows printing because of this lack of functionality. (We need this to work with papercut).
This is a HUGE need for us going forward. We plan on being to over 600 Chromebooks in just a few years (switching from Windows student devices). This seems to be the trend in a lot of K-12 schools. As of right now, I need to setup a Windows or CUPS print server and route Cloud Print jobs through that server via another 3rd party product that we're lucky enough to have.
This is far overdue and the biggest issue right now with Novell in our environment right now. We use PaperCut and it works with all vendors for Google Cloud Print except Novell. Yeah, I know about the workaround using a desktop vm and installing the printers there and sharing them out with my users, but that is not nearly as good as native integration with PaperCut - the reporting doesn't work by user this way. Chromebooks are growing by leaps and bounds - would be nice to see Novell doing something on this front.
We are on track to have 40,000 Chromebooks by 2019. We definitely need them to be supported by iPrint.
I must agree with this, in a years I can see all of our student workstations being replaced with Chromebooks. Having native iPrint to Google would save having to use a MS box.
It's good that this has changed to "Planned". I know we've stressed to product management that an actual "integration" with CloudPrint (the ability to publish iPrint printers to CloudPrint) is greatly important. I hope that's what is "planned".
I know the Chrome iPrint extension is a nice option for some people, but it just doesn't seem to help a lot of us who are managing hundreds or thousands of Chromebooks. As these devices are more or less "designed" to use CloudPrint, it would be much easier for some of us to just be able to publish our iPrint printers directly to the cloud.
We have >2,000 Chromebooks and this would be very helpful.
