When the iPrint appliance is used with an LDAP backend and the account gets locked case the user has entered too many times in wrong un/pw using a secure printer the iPrint client keeps poping up with a un/pw login box. This will put the admins (and users) on the wrong foot is that neither the iPrint Client for Windows nor on the Mac shows a message to the user that the accounts is locked. Not sure if doable over LDAP but for sure we would like to somehow notify the user about the lock of the account versus just poping up a login window over and over.
If not possible to check for a lock over LDAP versus a password mismatch then we need to consider to popup a message with the login-screen which notifies the user about a possible lock since he/she has now an amount of failed login attempts. I suggest we do this in a configurable amount of wrong passwords entered in the last x amount of time.
