Might using the Helpdesk Module provide read/write to an attribute(s)? An example is this users email, helpdesk asks if that is correct and user says no it is now… Is there any way to allow for a Helpdesk user to have access to certain attributes to read/write?
Maybe add a button as shown here:
The Helpdesk Actor Actions looks close to allow one attribute however does not appear to allow Helpdesk to type in

Agree, and would also suggest administrative dropdown with "canned" answers to avoid GIGO issues, e.g., "User claims password incorrect", "User forgot password", "User suspects password intercepted/lost", etc.
Also, what example button is referenced in the first paragraph?
The button Kevin references would be a Helpdesk Actor Action button. Maybe call it "Modify Email Address" or "ModifyEmailAddress" (since those buttons cannot contain spaces...ugh). Clicking on this button prompts the Helpdesk agent to enter the new email address. Clicking "Continue" or "OK" would overwrite the email address attribute in LDAP.
Another idea might be to add an "Update Profile" section into the helpdesk module that gives a helpdesk agent the ability to update (with appropriate permissions) a defined set of attributes.
Basically, expanding what a helpdesk agent can do for a customer besides dealing with passwords.
Hi Troy - talked with you at the Advisory Board about this enhancement...to allow the HelpDesk module to be able to edit other attributes, such as email address.
Thanks,
Mike
