During the install of the RBPM application is the only time that DB connections can be entered. Once entered, these connections contain encrypted information such as passwords. There is no current method to manage this connection after the install is complete. To validate the connection is working requires 3rd party software. To edit the connection password requires 3rd party files to be added to the server so commands can be executed to encrypt the new password while an unencrypted password is not supported. It would be more convenient to allow administrators to manage this DB connection through the configuration utility that manages most other RBPM settings to ensure a consistent management process and to reduce the need for 3rd party software and utilities. If the configupdate utility also provided a method to validate the DB connection was valid, it could assist in troubleshooting.
