Cisco Cisco Unified Communications Systems (UCS) works great with Outlook. It can read your calendar and set your availability (presence/status) in the Jabber client. It can read/pull contacts from the Outlook address book into the Jabber client where you can act upon contact (call, IM, etc...). It shows the UCS availability (presence/status) inside of Outlook.

There are a number of services and systems that have no native integration with GroupWise. The more systems we deploy with no integration to GroupWise (without 3rd party solutions, which is lacking also), kills our ability to keep those with influence from trying to migrate to Exchange/Outlook.

Webex would be another example of a system, which may not exactly fall into the Cisco UCS area, but it's another product that can't be tightly integrated with GroupWise like it can in Outlook.

  • 3rd party integrations are the biggest problem with GroupWise ...

  • We are looking an IP phone solution, all them integrate with outlook.
Shoretel has great solution, but no GW integration.

  • Cisco and GroupWise would be huge for Groupwise.
