When specifying a replication folder in Filr it has to be an empty folder, you cannot use a folder which already contains data (i.e. My Documents). We wish to specify "My Documents" as the replication folder as it is the default folder users save data into.

  • We use iFolder to make sure our users "My Documents" folder is synced to the server. This location is the default Microsoft location to save to for its Office Suite. The inability use Filr to sync to a server is holding us back from using it as an iFolder replacement. iFolder has save us a lot of grief when a hard drive dies or a laptop is stolen. We just install iFolder on the replacement device and it syncs all the files from the server to the My Documents folder.

  • this the partly the "merge" feature that was in ifolder, agree it should be in FiLR since it is the "ifolder replacement"

  • Yes!!! ifolder replacement with this filr is a MUST!
We already have filr users asking why they can't get their My Document files
in their mobile devices. And I have to concur with Bob M. we have used ifolder since its inception to do desktop backup and restoring of documents
from HD crashes and stolen laptops.

  • Hi William, I didn't quite understand this - what did you mean by "Replication Folder"?
