Problem Description:
Sometimes users accidentally delete files on server. That's why we have file level backup and restore on backend server.
But if deleted file had some filr metadata (comments, shared with other users...) when file is restored, metadata is lost.
Proposed Solution:
It would be nice to have some utility like ndsbackup, where you could backup filr metadata per individual file. So when file/folder is restored on backend server you could also restore only folder's/file's metadata.
And if this utility would have switch to restore metadata to custom location you could also use that to rearrange netfolders. For example if you would like to split one netfolder to several smaller there is no way to preserver filr metadata information on new netfolders. But with such utility you could for example backup netfolder1/folderA/file (where netfolder1 points to vol1:/folder1 on backend server) and then restore it to netfolderA/file (where netfolderA points to vol1:/folder1/folderA).
Perceived Benefit:
Possibility to restore folders/files metadata after folder/file restore on backend server
Possibility to rearange netfolders and preserver metadata

Create a backup API for this, so backup software vendors can implement the functionality in the backup software.
Leverage and expose ability for mobile and desktop client to
use NSS salvage feature to recover deleted files by user.
What about backup of filr Personal Storage AND THE ABILITY to restore single files/users?..please..
Vibe Backup /Restore
Create a File and database backup strategie, that the user can restore his deleted files with all of the metadata. Same as the GroupWise restore area.
Good idea - Noted!
