  • We also need this functionality. Most of our users share files with no expiration time and thus the shares are available "forever". Another possibility that would be OK could be a "Show/delete all shares created X days before" - so that you could delete all old shares.

  • Hi All,

    Here is how were are thinking of implementing this idea:

    - A GUI interface in Filr administration page(placement TBD - Under Shares or Share and Comment Settings) for Filr administrator to set the default number of days for share expiry
    - The range for default expiry setting MUST BE between 1 and 365 days
    - When a Filr user share a file/folder, the share expiry should default to "days" and Administrator defined default expiry number of days should be pre-populated
    - Any change made to this by Filr administrator is applicable only to the file(s)/folder(s) shared/reshared post the change by Administrator and thus doesn't change the expiry date of existing shares
    - The "NEVER" setting SHOULD NOT be an option for the Filr user in share expiry setting
    - Allow Administrator to make the default value as the maximum value thereby preventing users from setting number of days beyond the configured value (Optional)
    - A Filr user should be able modify the default value of number of days when sharing a file/folder

  • Hello Devadas. I think that we need to have an option to NOT USE the "Never" option. Some customers may force the expiring date. In other words, links with no expiration are not allowed.

  • We need the 'Never expire' option for all shares except the 'Make Public' shares (Guest user)

    This can be an 'default off' option, with the admin being able to turn this on explictily for all folder types (net server, home dirs, internal storage)

  • Based on feedback from Filr 3.4 beta - we have kept Never as an option for share's expiration.

    The default now is set to 30 days for all shares.

    We have got main part of this implemented and released as part of Filr 3.4 (which was released few hours back)

    Feel free to put in a new idea for anything that we may have missed from this idea.
