Implement a list of excluded files, just like iFolder do:

  • It would also be useful to be able to blacklist entire folders (eg. windows roaming profiles) from syncing.

  • there's many ifolder features that need to cross over to filr, including MERGE for folder sync

  • That's a really really good idea!

  • I agree 100%

  • We have customers that urgently have a requirement to block certain files from being uploaded - ie iso's, mp3's, video files, etc

  • This feature will not prevent the upload. It will only make the process a little bit more annoying/difficult/... (Rename/Upload/Rename)

However, as it is really easy to implement this filter i second the idea.

At least users would need to do *something* to specifically circumvent the blacklist. (which is often a 'good enough' solution)

  • At the moment there seems to be a hard coded exclusion for hidden files.

It would be great if Filr could allow this to be configured as part of the exclusion list as some customers what to use filr for backup purposes and hidden files are sometimes also important.

  • Need the ability to stop Access files from being included in Filr. They just do not work in any file syncing solution and being able to just keep them out completely would be great.

  • Think we should be able to configure this at a Global level and at a NetFolder level. Also we need to be able to set up- or/and download only, or Hide, at these levels, whick would assure files with that extensions would sync from the server to the desktop/mobile device but not back to the server.

  • Thanks for your inputs and votes!

We have started implementing this and is targeted to be released as part of Filr 3.1 update (via Online Update channel) around March 2017.

We will provide administrator the ability to specify either the blacklist or whitelist of file types that shouldn't or should only be uploaded to Filr via Filr clients.

  • This capability is now available in recently released update to Filr - versioned 3.1.

Please note that Filr 3.1 is released as an update via Online Update Channel and thus doesn't require you to install a new Filr virtual appliance.

    Marking this as completed.
