We had a request from our justice court to find out who had access to a set of files on the net folder. We know the folders but the only report today to findout who had access to that folder is by generate user report(from the ones that had access) and search the folder inside. But the request is who access the files from may 2017 to today. Maybe there is changes on the folder permission so its pretty hard to map this.
So its possible to create a new report to find out active on a espefic netfolder?

  • This report, for all the system is already available.

    1. Log into Filr as administrator,
    2. Go to the administration console,
    3. Select Reports
    4. Select User activity report
    5. select the dates to run the report between
    6. select 'Report Workspace or Folder Activity'
    7. Create report, and view in Excel

This report will log actions such as
    Add File
    Modify file
    Delete file
    View file (this includes downloading)
    ACL change
    Add share
    Delete share
    Modify share
    Modify file
pre delete (move to trash for ocal files)
    restore file (from trash)

Bear in mind that the defult for keeping records is 6 months so unless you modified this (in the Administration Console/Database logs, you will only get a limited amount on records.

If you wish to get this only for a specific folder then open the report in a spreadsheet and set up a filter to remove the unwanted entries.

  • Thanks Robin.

    Would this help Vinicius?

  • Robin,
as you might know we have too many files. This report as you said take a lot to generate and almost fail everytime(more then one month range). Maybe if we have a specific report for folder, we will have success generating

  • SIEM integration will help, isn't it?
