Unlike DropBox, OneDrive, and Google Drive, Windows 10 does not automatically allow Filr to write to folders protected by Controlled Folder Access. If Controlled Folder Access is turned on, users have to add a manual exemption to the “Add an allowed app through Controlled folder Access” so that Filr can update files.

If Controlled Folder Access is turned on, you may even have to add an exception or even completely turn off Controlled Folder Access in the Windows 10 Defender Security Center to complete the upgrade process to new versions of Filr.
