Currently hidden files like the ._file.ext ones created on OS X are handled with differently by the desktop application and the web interface: While the desktop application will not sync such files to the Filr server the web interface or the mobile app will still present them to the user once they have been created e.g. by a CIFS or AFP connection to an OES server hosting a home directory or a net folder.
The latter might be annoying for users as directory listings in the web browser will show files in alphabetical order by default and thus showing all these files on top of the listing.

My suggestions for improving on the handling of these types of files:
1) Allow the Filr administrator to create a blacklist for files not synchronized by the desktop application. In addition to the lists by file types as offered in the Filr 3.1 advanced editions these lists should support regular expressions as well as filters based on extended attributes like "hidden".
2) Enable the Filr administrator to manage similar filters for the Search Index Appliances. Hidden files of various types that are not contained in the search index will not show up in the web interface or on the mobile app. This will improve the user experience especially on folders which are accessed via NCP/CIFS/AFP and Filr in parallel.
