The information in the "What's new" section can be somewhat overwhelming, for sure in a large environment where users have access to hundred thousands or millions (or more) files.

Therefor it would make sens to either:
- Allow Admin to controle what is displayed in "What's new" (like for instance only files that have been updated / chaged / uploaded the last x days).
- Allow "Mark all read" by the users.
- Capability to nark all read by the admin (if not trough the REST API).

Comments

  • Or it maybe/would be useful, too, if the Administrator could "Switch off" or disable the button/link as it is possible with the "Show People" button/link.

  • Also, users seeing all those files they have never seen before might think that Filr has a security problem and that they are able to access files that (they think) they should not be able to access. This is especially true in big environments.

  • I agree with the previous comment. It would be useful to be able to disable the "What's new" button. If users have several Network folders, the amont of updates is so important that it doesn't make any sense to provide this kind of view.

  • Noted - will consider for Filr 4.1 (as we revamp the web UI)
