I just upgraded my Filr servers to the latest security patch, which once again triggers an update to the Filr Client. Unfortunately, due to hidden installation files that only show up during installation that I can't find, I can't let the client update automatically through Filr itself because Administrator level access is required to uninstall the old client to upgrade to the new version. This leaves me with 2 options: 1)Update my Zenworks bundle which will install/upgrade Filr but requires a reboot because the system converts to the DAU account, or 2)IT staff needs to visit each machine that has Filr to update it under one of our administrative accounts and then switch back to the user.
I'm not sure what the best way to describe this is, but a friendlier upgrade through Filr itself or being mindful of bundled installation files so that those of us using Application Control Policies can allow the clients to install seamlessly because they are signed by Novell/MicroFocus.
