In some scenarios, we would like to control which devices that can access Filr.

Maybe we want to restrict a user to use Filr on his company owned device only, and not to expose company files on the home tablet shared by 7 children, dog, mother in law etc...

Of course, there's more than one way of doing this...

One way could be that a new filr client, can't start accessing/syncing files before it has been authorized by an admin. The admin should be able to add a comment to the device like 'Mary's company iPad' or 'Steve's private iPhone' and perhaps also add an expiration time for the device...

If authorization is turned on, the user must be notified of this during logon from the new device and be able to add a personal comment before pressing 'Request device authorization'.

  • Highly wanted feature by any Security Officer. That will be perfect if on a Mobile Device Filr will be organizing data into something like Secure Vault, in this case we could say to Customer "All of your data is under control, any leakage thru Filr is not possible!". But right now that will be good if we could add an Approval Mechanism to give possibility to Customer to control which device User is using to access corporate data. That will not stop all and any leakage but at least it's the simplest and basic form of control. I have request from Customer regarding this feature - and I think that if I'll ask another Customers about it, they will say "Sure we need it!".
Please add this feature into Filr.
