A Service that runs on a separate box from Filr that acts as protocol to rest translator. The service should be pluggable so multiple protocols could be supported so for example this would allow you to SCP from Linux to Filr and would also allow Nautilus to connect to Filr over SCP. The other protocol support would be centered around email so that an email client with no changes could send email to filr over SMTP. The gateway service would translate to REST and provide responses to the email client. So no changes to the calling application or device every email client could then become a filr client
