It would be great to have either a document preview of specific document types like PDF or XLS and even better a preview Icon for Pictures like JPG or PNG files.

Hi Andreas,
Filr already document preview wherein users can see preview of more than 100 file types (like JPG, PNG, AutoCAD, Viso, MS Powerpoint) etc.
This can be enabled as decribed at https://www.novell.com/documentation/filr-3/filr-admin/data/html_view.html
Would you be looking for something else?

I want to emphasize that thumbnails will be very helpful and are on the very top of the list for improvement our users ask for.
