Eliminate the need to constantly switch between separate Email fat client systems and Vibe, File Managers and office applications for email messages and regular documents. Project knowledge workers and projecting teams (engineering, consultans, architects) want to store email in the file system with one email message per file organized the project way and project logical thinking in project related folders. They keep and share all type of team documents (office ODT/OOXML documents, CAD drawings and models, photos, calculations and more) related to a particular project below the same project folder in a sub folders tree structure.
We need a webmail app within Vibe to fullfill this gap to manage email as project documents this way!
Vibe's email app should easily feature drag&drop and copy&paste project grouped emails from connected IMAP servers to separate .eml files with attachments in normal file folders and mirrored project folders.
It's crucial to preserve the emails original time- and date stamps, sender and receivers for project and document managements using index, sort, search, view and easy follow the email in/out threads
Being able to quickly read/view and compose/edit/post simple and rich emails with attachments without leaving the Vibe system, both externally and internal within the team.
Saving as standard eml files offers redudance and secure open access to email correspondence also for future review of project archives, independent of the current native email format in use.
eml files can also be read by major fat email clients like GroupWise and Outlook on Windows, Thunderbird, Evolution and Kmail on Linux.
Much the same features and ideas are already written regarding "MessageSave" for Microsoft Outlook, and can be used as reference links for what I have described above regarding a cross-platform webmail app within Vibe:

It would be great already if Vibe recognizes an item as email and shows all metatags like cc/bc/date send etc. Now emails that are received by the Vibe system are treated like text items without the metatags. Maybe the smtp engine can translate it to an eml before adding it to the Vibe system in a folder.

Basically a drag & drop of mails from Groupwise in Vibe would be necessary. The mail fields, such as From, To, Date, would have to be copied automatically into an entry.
