Markdown is a very popular means of supporting both text and HTML formatting in a single document. Among other products, both GitHub and Stack Overflow / Discourse use it heavily.

Supporting Markdown would make Vibe a much more competitive product (since Markdown support is a heavily-used feature in technology circles) and would give a friendlier formatting option for those who need their documents both as plain text and formatted.
