Current a discussion thread just has comments that are tied to the main item as a reply to that.

It would be good if the comments allowed you to reply to a comment with that comment being indented under the comment you are replying to as well as being able to reply tot he main text, also the ability to quote a comment when replying would also be helpful.

Along with this it would be too be able to enable notifications on reply to a comment and on quote.
