Spam that does manage to bypass anti-spam systems sometimes contain HTML images that notify the sender that a message was Opened. This alerts the sender that they have a legitimate email address.
I would like to see an optional feature that would check the senders email address and IF the sender is not in your address book, then present the email in text mode so as to not trigger a response to the sender.
If the email is legitimate, allow the recipient to Allow HTML from the sender.

I agree on this one. If they only send it HTML and no text option, and it is not from a known sender, it's probably spam.
