Our company makes very extensive use of Shared folders as multiple people access folders about customers, product and service suppliers. We have created a single owner of the shared folders that are organized in a tree.
When a new colleague joins, it used to be a gigantic hassle to share all the folders that user needed, since a few years we use Omni Riva for this, as it allowed granulated folder by folder sharing without the user having to accept the folder(s) and without the user having to put the folder in the right place in the tree. Omni Riva works up to GW2012, no longer with GW2014.
I understand GW2104 allows an entire tree of folders to be shared, but without granular rights possibilities, so we would need to go years back to sharing, accepting and placing folder by folder.
An improved management of providing access to a shared folder (tree), similar to what exists for file servers without having to share, accept and place would be great. Just give rights to the folder(s) and it shows up at the one getting the rights all in the correct place.
