Please make the GroupWise personal address books available through LDAP at the GW PO.
Then many 3rd party applications (pbx, crm, etc) could connect and use the address records of the GW address book.
We want to use the GW address books as our primary source for customer contacts.

  • we need it for phone api/tapi software

  • yes we need this.

  • I have an open case on this. Supposedly, there is a switch with GWIA --ldap that is supposed to expose LDAP services. I need this to integrate our external mail security /spam filtering service so my groupwise users can use their own groupwise password to access their quarantine. It also allows that service to sync user accounts with our mail system.

  • Dave, I guess you are talking about LDAP access on the gwia for the internal user source (which are the groupwise users), which make sense.

But what we need is to take the personal address books of the groupwise users and make them available internally via LDAP for other applications, like pbx, etc.
Then other software could easyly access the (shared) addressbook(s) via LDAP, use all the addresses (entered by non priviledged users) for TAPI, CRM, etc.

And, afaik, you could use it for MS Office as well - maybe no need to write special standalone plugins/addons for the GW address book - just refer in MS Office to the LDAP source.
