In C1 (GW 2012) I can set an option to send an e-mail, when user reached his quota. That's a good option. Why do the don't get an e-mail about the mailbox size? In Webaccess there comes a message.
In GW client I see the mailbox size. Not every look at this information. There are also user, who uses other mailprograms like Outlook, Thunderbird, ... The never got an information about their quota.
So it would be nice to send this information additionally to the user. I would place this switch on: domain, po and user.

  • Such a notification could possibly be done as a scheduled GWCheck that looks for and notifies users whom are close to their quota, or a set size. This was it could be run at a frequency that best meets the user community needs. Sending as an email also makes it GMS client friendly.

  • I am in favor of this! I recently had a user who sent a message via mobile to many recipients. At some point around this time she went over her quota - but because she was using only mobile, she never got any of the GW 2014 pop-up warnings (which are only offered in the client's Online mode or via Webaccess). So she never knew she was over, even on this occasion. She did not recall receiving any alert or message on her mobile when she attempted to send the message in question, though I subsequently tested with a dummy mailbox and it appears that GMS generates a "message not sent" notice that goes only to the mobile mailbox (it never shows up in the GW mailbox). My testing also shows that the message you attempt to send from the mobile client just disappears - it isn't in outbox or sent or drafts or anywhere!
