In Groupwise Cornell you can mark an email as a task but it is not possible set a time and get a alarm notification.

In GroupWise 2014 R2 (Cornell) After setting a follow up flag you can right-click on the item and set an alarm with a date and time to go off. The alarm comes from Notify
