We use Openfire/Spark as a replacement to Messenger - this would pull us back to Messenger definately!
This one of the biggest complaint we have against messenger...
We are OK without Files being there as it's one less thing to worry about. If implemented, we'd need a good way to monitor and scan the files for malware/etc. Perhaps integrate with Filr?
The lack of this possibility obliges us to install alternative products.
Telegram / Viber / WhatsUP / Openfire. Give me one reason to buy Messenger??? Novell Messenger is lack of simple functions like read message status, send images/files and so on. Please UPDATE MESSENGER!!!!!
To be honest, Messenger is for free , when you have current maintenance.
Yes, but I have many clients which need enterprise messenger. If I will give them Messenger+ modern options like read status / integration with Filr or some cloud, it will be great! Many customers don't understand Messenger, because options is poor(somewhere from 90's).
send files would be great

Messenger is out. Too missing feature in comparaison with Skype. No Video, No desktop sharing, No file transfert, no so integreted with GW, no authentification with other source like AD, no....etc. Because of that we use Skype and the user said to us "why not outlook too" ? better integration. We resist but the pressure are high.
Like said Denys K. : Update it or kill it.
This idea would be resolved by idea "Messenger and Teamworks should be merged". Teamworks has the ability to send files.
This is currently planned on the roadmap the 18.1 release of GroupWise. 18.1 is currently schedule for release late secon half of 2018. Please remember that roadmap items are subject to change as we get closer to release.
My customers do not want teamworks cause they use Filr or Vibe as part of NOWS
Agree to Sebastiaan. We use Filr and vibe too as a part of nows. The process of buying licenses everytime includes the step to check if there are other products that fits better or cost less.
Integration of teamworks in NOWS would lead to much more customers using teamworks. Maybe the integration could be done like filr. A "teamworks standard" license should be included in nows and an "teamworks advance" license with more features should be available for optional purchase.
Besides that, sending files with messenger is absolutely important. I would like to see it integrated with filr/vibe too.
I totally agree!. It is very important that we can have a Messenger with the same functions that today the user is used to, since otherwise it will end up being a tool that is not used. Nowadays the one that decides is not the sysadmin but rather the users of the tool. We can't tell our customers to buy Teamworks in order to have new features.
Have a great Sunday GW folks! Best regards.,
This just missed the 18.1 release. It is still planned but has been pushed to 18.1.1 which is scheduled before March 31. I apologize for the delay.
Very good news!!
It's still not implemented in 18.1.1 When do you plan to release it?
New features generally do not end up in a support pack but only in major releases, so I bet it's postponed to 18.2.0
This is available in the GroupWise 18.2 release on 10/31/2019
