As a GroupWise user I want to be able to merge contacts in personal address books that have the same name so that I can clean up my address book.

  • This is a very good idea. In fact, a "clean up address book" set of functions would be great. One possible method would be to be able to list the contacts like a grid - Excel style perhaps - where the columns could be sorted. Then, you can select individual ones and click "merge" and fields that conflict could be resolved by a series of dialogs or by displaying the records one on top of the other and just click to accept the field that is right or edit to create the correct entry.
    This would be enormously helpful.

  • We're seeing an issue now with "ambiguous users" pulled from phone into frequent contacts. Then there is a user with an email and one without. Would be nice to be able to merge them.

  • Novell Dev - see Bug 920932 drag and drop from FC AB to PAB - would like a Merge Option on duplicate

  • Bug 920932 is not opening available to all of us.

  • Would really like a merge option in contacts. I agree that this would be a fantastic idea

  • This would be a useful feature

  • I realise this is a challenging reqeust due to the GrouwpWise original architecture.
However this is a very, very,... annoying limitation.
    I hope solutions will follow.

  • This is so easy.
Just copy all the addresses in to one spreadsheet and get your intern to delete the dupes and the re-enter them all!

  • I have to many seperate adressbooks (.NAB)- that is the issue - Thx for the tip. I'll keep that in mind.
