As the GroupWise administrator I want to be able to define multiple custom system address books with subsets of users and even external users and then push that to domains, pos, users or even the entire system so that I can expose custom address books to select users.

  • It would be great if these custom address books could be managed by domain, post office administrators (or users) too, not only by the GW system administrators. At the moment, the external users can only be managed by system administrators.
    Imagine the following use case:
A division of a company stores their external contacts in a separate but system wide available address book. The division has its own domain or po and has its own gw administrators who does not have system administration right, only domain/po admin rights. The domain/po admin ( or even users ) of the division can manage these external contacts and custom address books.

  • Great Idea and there should be the possibility to sync them trough mobility Service.

  • Brilliant, if it is possible to include external users as well.

  • This is necessary, because of the use of mobile devices, those users must have access to those adressbooks via GMS.

  • I have to correct myself. Earlier I wrote, that only the System Administrators can create external users. This is wrong. Any administrator (domain,po) can create external users, as long as the admin user has admin right to the external post office. The trick is to assign the right through the admin user object and not through the external po object. The standard po object has an Administrators tab, while the external po object is missing this. But every user has an Administrator tab where the external po object is select-able.

  • This would allow the GroupWise community to start doing GroupWise Cloud Hosting within ONE GroupWise system IF we can also get this iDomains Multi-Tenancy IDEA Planned - https://www1.v1ideas.com/MFI/novell-gw/Idea/Detail/1538
