As a GroupWise user when creating an auto-reply rule or vacation rule I want to be able to specify how man days before a recipient can active the rule again so that if the rule is for an extended period of time and the sender sends me multiple emails during that time they can be reminded I am out of the office.

EX: If I am on vacation for 2 weeks. A sender sends me an email the first time they will get a notification. However if 2-3 days later they forget and send me another email the rule will not generate another email and the sender can forget I am out of the office.

  • I have a client who wants the reply for every email, so we tested with a plain rule and even that only replies on the first sent message and not the subsequent ones.

  • Andy, there is a work-around for that. I believe you make the condition "Subject contains *" and the vacation rule will fire every time. As far as this idea goes, I too have had people forget that someone is out of the office, and the rule replied only the first time. The lawyer that this happened to complained that he has a professional responsibility to provide timely response. So I could see a benefit to a setting that clears the "fired-once-already flag" every NN days. We have some people who are out for months at a time.

  • The "Subject contains *" trick doesn't work if you just add to an existing rule, but does on its own. We will play with it with other conditions but it is an advance. Still want this Idea to be real
