Just about every web service or event-maker on the Internet sends out invitations that can be loaded on to an Outlook Calendar. SOME allow iCal. I know GW supports iCal but my experience with that has been hit-or-miss at best.
Here is an example of an e-mail we received FROM Micro Focus that is precisely what I am talking about:
=======================
Add to Calendar: Outlook® Calendar | Google Calendarâ„¢/a> | iCal®
=======================
Since everybody supports Outlook Calendar, I would like to see GroupWise Windows Client and GroupWise WebAccess support the native "add to Outlook Calendar".
This way, we don't get users wishing they had Outlook instead. This is a VERY common situation. If GroupWise "just worked" with the native Outlook appointment, it would become a non-issue for the end user.
As it stands now, it's a pretty sore spot and the source of a lot of complaints.

Hey Willem.
Maybe I'm misunderstading, but this really ought to work as of today. I never had a problem importing or accepting any type of externally sent calendar, invite or appointment.
That Microfocus sents out invitations that mention Outlook and Goolge, but not Groupwise is another topic and well worth a rant... But it *should* by all means work.
It does not work often at all for me -- I've tried it using different GW systems and using different invitations. I know it "should" work but there is a huge difference between "should" and "does" and the problem is, it doesn't work very often.
It should be seamless and "just work". It is far from seamless at the moment.
I understand, but when it doesn't work for you something is amiss and not working right, and IMHO that's something for support, not an enhancement. I receive calendars regularly for flights, train travel, the games of my favorite football team, you name them. They all work.
