When user X proxies into the mailbox of user Y, they do not get access to the address book of user Y. This is inconvenient in cases where user Y may be a shared mailbox, such as for a generic function.

In our case, we have a user that owns address books that are shared. When a new person needs one of these address books, we have to log out of GW and log back in as user Y, then share the address book with the new user. Then log out and log back in as themselves.

This is really inconvenient. Why not simply proxy into the mailbox of user Y, share the address book and then unproxy.

In other words, in addition to mail, rules and whatnot, the address book should be part of what a proxy user can access.

Comments

  • Make an extra option in the proxy rights for access to personal address books

  • We have Mailboxes for each sub-organisation (100).
Each Mailbox can be accessed only over the proxy function by the users.
The most sub-org-mailboxes have there own address book.

Only the IT-Staff were knowing the sub-org-mailbox-passwords.

= only the IT-Staff can change the address book shares !!!

    We need this new feature!
