FID editor removed: GroupWise 2014 SP 2 no longer uses the FID editor to gain access to an archive. Archives can now be accessed if the FID matches, the GUID matches, you use a trusted app, or the user’s password.
In the past we have done an data-transfer by staff-change over the archive.
The old colleague archive all important data. We copy the archive and change the FID, so the new colleague can transfer the important data in his own mailbox.
After this the new colleague get an new, empty archive from us. Now the FID-Editor is removed...

On an SR I get 2 solution statement:
1. With drag and drop, but the BCC is lost by this methode.
2. With shared folders, but this require that both mailboxes are visible.

As Administrators we want a tool back like FID-Editor for Archives.

Comments

  • FID editor was an easy option to move "dead data" from one user to another user without moving data back to online mailbox.

  • I heared from GroupWise dev. that starting with 14.0.2 mailbox passwords are now stored in the archive and by this can now be opened/imported if you know the password.
