GW client (even R2) has very old client installation framework.
One thing that shows this is the options for creating shortcut in the OS:
- desktop
- start menu
- quick launch

For Win7 and newer, quick launch is outdated. Pin to taskbar should be the replacement for it.
Updating the whole installation framework may be required.
