Before the days of conversation threading you would often quote the previous messages in a conversation, this can be very useful if you need to forward this to someone else, so that they can get caught up and see all that has gone before. With conversation threading you don't get the quotes so it can be a lot of work to recreate the discussion for another person.
Can we have an option added to the Forward button dropdown options to 'Forward Thread'?

I'm fairly certain adding user to the conversation does this already. Just click the Edit pencil on the main message header to the right of the recipients, and add the contacts you want. Should send them a copy of thread and notify others of the new user joining the conversation.
