We use PGP for all external mails with sensitive informations, but using a another tool
to generate the encrypted message is quite annoying. SMIME is good, but a certificate is
more expensive and more complicated to get and integrate.

An integration of PGP into GroupWise server and clients would make it easy to
- create and share a pgp key pair (for all users automatically)
- pin a public key to an email address
- add a key to an external email address and add it to a list of trusted public keys

Of course it should be easy to administrate "everything" in the gw admin console and there
should be a possibility to choose between two different default settings (encypt by default ,if
a key exists for the recipient(-s) or not) and to set the encryption on/off for a certain mail!

  • GPG support also needed if PGP does not cover it.

  • There are many good PGP/GPG management tools. In reality GW doesn't need to incorporate these tools. They simply need the infrastructure to allow import of Public Keys and functional use within the product (including WebAccess). This support would be greatly appreciated.
